The phone is usually where the truth lives.
Messages, calls, photographs, locations and the applications that mediate a working life. We examine iPhone and Android devices with proper authority, and recover what the matter turns on, including much of what was deleted.
What a mobile examination can establish
Modern phones record communication and movement in extraordinary detail: chat applications and their databases, call logs, media with embedded metadata, location artefacts, application usage and connection records. Where deletion has occurred, application databases and backups often retain recoverable traces. What survives depends on the device, its condition, and how quickly it was preserved, which is why the first advice we give is always the same: stop using it.
Access matters. A passcode or account credentials materially widen what can be recovered. Where credentials are not available we advise honestly on feasibility before any fee is incurred, rather than promising what a locked device may not give.
Instructions we commonly take
- Recovering deleted chat threads relevant to a dispute or investigation.
- Corroborating timelines through location and usage artefacts.
- Preserving a phone that has surfaced in a matter, before anyone scrolls through it.
- Examining a company device returned by a departing employee.
Frequently asked
- Can deleted WhatsApp or WeChat messages be recovered from a phone?
- Often, from the application database on the device or from backups, where authority exists and the data has not been overwritten. Recovery prospects fall with continued use of the phone, so preservation should come first.
- Do you need the phone's passcode?
- It significantly widens access and the range of recoverable data. Without it, options depend on the device model and state; we assess feasibility honestly before work begins.
