Deleted rarely means gone. It means waiting.

File systems part with data reluctantly. We recover deleted documents, messages and media from computers, phones and drives, and interpret the traces deletion itself leaves behind.

Recovery with interpretation

Consumer recovery tools retrieve files. Forensic recovery answers the questions that matter in a dispute: when was it deleted, by whom, using what, and was the deletion itself deliberate concealment. Unallocated space, file-system journals, volume shadow copies and application databases each preserve different fragments of the story; carving a document back matters less than being able to say how it died.

Prospects depend on the medium and what has happened since. Solid-state drives and modern phones discard data more aggressively than the spinning disks of a decade ago, which makes early preservation decisive. We assess feasibility honestly before fees are incurred; not every deletion can be undone, and we will say so quickly.

Instructions we commonly take

  • Recovering documents or messages deleted before a dispute surfaced.
  • Establishing whether deletion was routine housekeeping or targeted destruction.
  • Rebuilding activity from journals and shadow copies after a wipe attempt.
  • Advising on spoliation questions when destruction is alleged.

Frequently asked

Can files deleted months ago still be recovered?
Sometimes. It depends on the storage type, how heavily the device was used afterwards, and whether journals, backups or shadow copies caught the content. An early feasibility assessment costs little and answers the question honestly.
Can you prove a file was deleted deliberately?
Often the surrounding artefacts speak: bulk deletions at odd hours, use of wiping utilities, or deletion timed suspiciously against events in the matter. The pattern, properly documented, is itself evidence.
